Reset BODY.
 Reset MIND. Reset POSSIBLE.

Ideal Protein is a three-phase ketogentic weight loss protocol that uses food as medicine to empower clients to reach their health goals. We provide clients with one-on-one coaching, support and accountability to reenforce healthy, sustainable habits.

Our Weight Loss Clinic has helped the Parksville community to lose a collective :

15,000 pounds (and counting!)

How It Works

number 1 in red circlePhase 1: Nutritional Ketosis

By restricting carbohydrate intake, the Weight Loss Phase is designed to optimize fat loss through ketosis (a safe and natural state in which the body mobilizes stored fat as its alternative energy source). You’ll remain in Phase 1 until you have reached your weight loss goal.

number 0 and 2 in blue circlePhase 2: Stabilization

Following weight loss, the body fights to regain lost weight. This “energy gap”, where more calories are desired than required, makes weight loss difficult to manage and maintain. Stabilization is about narrowing this gap by adjusting the intake of protein/fat/carbs to effectively manage hunger, promote greater satiety and maintain weight loss. This is achieved through proper macro calculation.

Phase 3: Maintenance

For the first 12 months following Stabilization, you will continue to receive education and support from your coach and clinic (online and/or in-person). Two semi-annual “tune-ups” are recommended during this period.

Coaches Q&A:

Q: What is your favourite vegetable, and how do you like to dress it up?

Jennifer: “I enjoy all veggies—especially the ‘weird’ ones! The one I use most often is cauliflower due to its great versatility. Cauliflower is a true chameleon… It’s a great rice substitute, faux mashed potato, veggie steak, pureed Alfredo sauce… the list goes on!”
Sue: It’s tough to pick a favourite, but I do regularly enjoy zucchini and cauliflower for their versatility. Zucchini boats and cauliflower fritters are in a regular rotation at my house!

Q: What is the strangest food you’ve ever tried?

Jennifer: “A Japanese rice cake called mochi.”
Sue: Definitely octopus. I was glad to have tasted it, but once was enough!

Q: What is your favourite travel destination?

Jennifer: “My favourite travel destination is yet to be determined as I have much to explore. On beautiful Vancouver Island I enjoy quality downtime in Ucluelet with my husband.”
Sue: I love to travel and am eager to do so much more of it. A couple of my favourite trips would have to be Sorrento, Italy and Cabo San Jose, Mexico — breathtaking! I have to say one of my absolute favourite nearby areas would be Pender Island. I thoroughly enjoy visiting this beautiful island and exploring the views, collecting beach glass, shopping at the local market, and hiking.

Q: What is your favourite way to stay active?

Jennifer: “I’m active in so many ways, but consistent with walking. I look forward to busting a move on the dance floor when we can.”
Sue: Running has always been my passion. I have completed many 10km, Half Marathons (21.1km) and conquered my goal of doing a Full Marathon (42.2km) in 2014. Now I really enjoy walks with my beautiful black lab Rylee. Our favourite walks are in the trails so she can be off leash.

Q: What is your “why?” How did you get started with Ideal Protein in the first place?

Jennifer: “My why today is actually the same as when I did my journey through phase 1… it is for my health. I have added incentive with a wonderful husband of over 31 years, my children, and my granddaughter. I got started with Ideal Protein after a regular check in with my GP. She gave me a lot to think about in regards to how the extra weight could impact my well-being. This discussion gave me motivation to make and maintain healthy lifestyle changes that I can embrace with gratitude. I’m thankful for my health and all of the wonderful people I meet along the way as a lifestyle coach.”
Sue: The year I ran my Full Marathon I was in a Mud Mulisha obstacle course and tore my meniscus when I was running through mud. Surgery wasn’t necessary at this point in time but taking pressure off the knee was beneficial. The Ideal Protein Protocol not only helps reduce inflammation, but it also provides nutritional guidance to help build healthy eating habits.
